Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers Candidates
Placing porcelain veneers is an irreversible procedure as the process does require removal of tooth enamel (sedation dentistry is always an option for our veneers patients). Bridges
Archaeologists have discovered dental bridges dating all the way back to 2000 BC. Not surprisingly, the excavation produced a string of teeth threaded through a piece of gold wire. Thankfully, we have since improved upon this technique. The dental bridges we use today can actually prevent a host of problems such as gum disease, bone degeneration, and shifting of teeth. The placement of a dental bridge is often combined with tooth whitening and porcelain veneers for a complete smile makeover. Dental bridges are used to correct a gap resulting from one or more missing teeth.
Types of Dental Bridges
There are three types of dental bridges: fixed, resin, and cantilever.
Fixed Bridges: A fixed bridge is a false tooth, connected to two crowns. Surrounding teeth must be scaled down and prepared prior to attaching a fixed bridge.
Resin: Normally used for front teeth, this technique involves fusing a false tooth to metal bands. The bands are then bonded to healthy surrounding teeth with a resin. This method works best when surrounding teeth are healthy and free from fillings.
Cantilever: This method is most effectively utilized on front teeth and when teeth are only present on one side of a gap. During this procedure, the false tooth is anchored to one side of the gap over one or more teeth.
