Dr. Dodson had the privilege of training with the renowned father of cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Charlie Pincus of Beverly Hills, for several months after his post-doctorate program in Los Angeles. Dr. Pincus was the “Dentist to the Stars”… Bob Hope, Anthony Quinn, Paul Newman, Barbara Stanwyck, Milton Berle, Marilyn Monroe, etc. Dr. Dodson was offered Dr. Pincus’s dental practice to stay in Beverly Hills but decided to return to Monterey to partner with Dr. John Rhoads (past president of the American Board of Prosthodontics). Dr. Dodson also studied with Dr. Jack Preston, father of modern-day ceramics and porcelain dental crowns for two years in Los Angeles.

In his spare time, Dr. Dodson spends a considerable amount of time with the Search and Rescue and Vessel Safety exams with the United States Coast Guard Auxilliary, District 11N, Commander of Flotilla 6-4 (Station Monterey), Human Relations Staff Officer, Vessel Examiner, Coxswain. He also enjoys outdoor sports such as boating, fishing and jogging. His wife of 45 years, Saundra, works with him as a treatment and financial coordinator. He has two daughters and three grandchildren.

Prior to becoming a hygienist, I worked as a dental assistant for several years. I was attracted to dentistry for the opportunity to truly help people.
